Well i've always been a big fan of Games Workshop and i started collecting their minis when i was around 11-12 years old but never really enjoyed painting them. Then after a short while i stopped collecting and went off to university and studied, but found i had more and more time as i progressed through education. In my final years of my PhD i started to pick up painting again and i've been doing it ever since, on and off. I love learning new techniques and having cool models to use. My one policy is i refuse to play with any unpainted models, hence why i play so little and paint so much now.

Cryx Part 06

I hate leaving models incomplete, so i finished off the plates of amour at the side keeping it a dark colour and scheme. Once i was happy with the blending i started work on the gold nmm. Started with a dark brown and then a lighter brown, then i added small amounts of yellow and then some white. Working this up i managed to get a nice smooth blend then black spotted the bits i covered on the vent around the gun. Im happy with the end effect, might need a bit of cleaning up at the edges. Almost done, will finish the rest tomorrow.
