Chaos Hell Canon

Ok, so this weekend something amazing happened. I was visiting a local con with some of my friends. And out of nowhere my friend M decided to buy me a Chaos Hell Canon as a gift. A very generous, thoughtful and amazing gift that i'm very happy about, and i really don't know how to show my appreciation. So if you read this, thanks a million times!

Anyways, now i have to paint and assemble it and wreck havoc among my enemies. The big question is how to paint it, what colors to use? And how to go about this business. It's got a lot of diffrent parts so i reccon i need to paint some of them separatly and attach the parts as i go. It's all metal, with some gaps to fill with grey stuff....

First Game Chaos Vs Empire

A coupleof days ago i played my first game with my new Warriors of Chaos (WC) army. I fielded a 1500 pts army against a friends Empire army and here how it went.

I fielded two regiments of chaos warriors, one regiment of maruders as cannon fodder, two regiments of chaos knights and one regiment of maruder horsemen. Everything was lead by an exalted hero riding a juggernaut.

I had no problems fending off my opponents magic - coming from a lowly 1st level wizard hurling fireballs at me. The maruder horsemen chased off a regiment of outriders with handguns and cut them down off field, but only after the handgunners had made short work off my regiment of chaos knights devoted to khorne. They were gunned down before they could do anything. ...

Nurgle Cavalry

Ok, my second regiment of chaos warriors are done (except for the bases) and i have begun on my next regiment of chaos knights. The last ones were devoted to Khorne, and this regiment are a part of the Nurgle dreadhost.

I started by priming them with GW skull white, then giving them a wash of Vallejos smokey ink in order to see the details. Not that these horses i'm working with now have that many details, but still, it's good practice for future projects.

After the smokey ink wash i mixed vallejos Gun metal with a few drops smokey ink and gave the barding a couple of thin layers. This made the barding take a light brass/bronze tone which looked very clean. Nurgle is all about disease, rot and puss - filth. So i mixed some dark green and black green ink and gave the barding a layer or two of that, following up with a coat of GW Devlan mud wash....

Blood For The Blood God!

So, this is my chaos warriors project so far.

It's composed of a mixed bulk of corse units, a regiment each of maruders, chaos warriors who worships Khorne and a small unit of maruder horsemen. And is supported by a small regiment of chaos knights devoted to Khorne.

For some reason i decided to paint my hero on foot in traditional Slaanesh colors - purple and gold... Which seems kinda odd considering i have no other units clearly devoted to Slaanesh.

The army general is of course the center piece - the mounted Lord of Khorne and his mighty Juggernaut....
