   Cirith Ungol - Part 1 [06/11 02:54PM]

Two weeks ago I started a project which seems to be the most ambitious of mine - The Tower of Cirith Ungol. I was inspired by Tolkiens book and the film and I've got a huge box with Mordor warriors by GW. So I want to make a diorama showing Shagrat fighting against Gorbag. If everything goes right the Tower will be about 30-40 sm high and inhabited with 10-15 Mordor Urukhajs and Orcs. By the time it looks rather poor, but I hope it's just the beginning.

Now my Mordor army has a mighty drummer to make its march against Saurons' foes even more frightening. A finished mini from Mordor / Izengard Troll-kit. Press on the image to see the back view

Few days ago I started a Troll from Mordor/Izengard Troll kit. It was interesting to have a choice – three heads and at least three variants per each arm to select. But the body didn’t look detailed if compared with metal Troll from old box-set. That’s why I decided to use some green stuff. Now I’m satisfied and the Troll is ready to be painted.

   Why LOTR? [26/04 02:00PM]

Hi! I painted my first mini more than 20 years ago. But at that time my technique was quite poor. Futhermore I used oil paints instead of akril and was disappointed by the result. So, frankly speaking I've being painting seriously for about two years, when I felt that should share my achievements with someone else besides my friends and family. And here am I writing my first post.

Well, I'm focused on LOTR minis by GW. There are at least three reasons for that:

1) "The Lord of the Rings" impressed me when I was a boy, and about 15 years later I watched the film with great pleasure.
