Please, please, close up of the dragon :)
Wow. You're a jerk. I'll just have to never paint armies again and then I won't have to face the fact that that's a better looking army than I could do.
Thanks Roger, it's really a good feeling to get some units finished to share. I think I'll take some time to take photos Thursday afternoon, I have a few hours in the afternoon to spare. Failing that, I have nothing but 4-day weekends with my rockin university schedule, so that should offer enough time to set up for some pics :-) Good luck with your pile of armies, I have a couple other ones I should be working on too. That's a lot of weight on your shoulders.
I got the start of my wood elf army for Christmas. So far I have the battalion box, the wild riders box, a spell singer and the noble with great weapon. However it will probably be ages until I get started on them. I still have most of my daemonhunters to paint, my skaven army to finish prepping and then painting, and a Tau army to put together and so on. I'll probably just have to start painting them all at the same time, alternate painting units from each army, although I'm such a slow painter that I think I've got the next 20 years worth of projects for myself. Oh, and I'll be painting other stuff I'll buy as well. Still, I'd like to see your army when it's finished. It's going to look damn fine on the gaming tables.
The one in the middle was a late addition to the squad, and not necessary to make it a legal unit. So the unit counts as done :P I'll paint him up when I bulk out the old unit I guess. That might be tonight if things go well. Anyway, most of my Wood Elves were painted up for display at the local GW, and I got to keep them afterwards. Many were rushed or never quite finished due to deadlines. Now, like 2 years later, I'm gonna finish the army and add the 1-2 units I never got for free :D
Wooooow, i'm kina in the same boat! Sucks! Well hope you enjoy Xmas anyway, i figured this isn't any ina time to be miserable! Make the most of what you got and keep that chin up! All the best man, take care =D
Kind of a long story. Let's just say that a comment was made about a very recent and unresolved relationship conflict, and my response was bitterly sarcastic/kinda spiteful. I think she wanted a laugh, though, so I was asked not to attend the Christmas meal... :-(
Wow, how the hell did that happen? Squig
I feel for you man, that sucks. Join us in the CMON Christmas Feast? :)
Me again, I just found one unopened box. It's called a "Quick Fix Adjustable 24 Compartment Box" imported by Encore Sales from Ontario, Canada. The dimensions are 11x7x1.6" in case you were wondering. This is just cheap made in China stuff so you should be able to find another brand with a similar product.
Hey Johnboy, most of the Dollar Stores in my area have some variety of boxes like these. They are usually found in the hobby/hardware section. Either with the craft stuff like paint and supplies or with the hardware tools. Some times these sorts of trays are marketed as bead sorting dividers or something. I was going to use a big expensive tackle box setup but the difference in price is enormous.
What are they? Where do you get them? I use tackle box trays and they are expensive.
Haha yeah, I've maybe bit off a little more than I can chew when it comes to buying armies I'll never paint :P I'm excited to see what everyone gets for the ME!
Hey man, still haven't got them out.. but do not fear, first thing monday! I need to sort through all the boxes of unpainted lead etc in the closet. I saw those pics from your stash, goddam man!
Did we get that this year? I honestly don't remember :D Most of the time that is gas money for the spring, since I usually don't work 8 months a year. Not as exciting as it could be, but I certainly can't complain.
And you got $400 in January for LIVING in alberta *sigh
Thanks man, glad you like him. I'm really looking forward to getting more owrk done on these guys, but I really have to get cracking on my papers for University... so much to do in the next 2 weeks it's scary!
Thanks :) It's metallic, using P3 paints. Basecoat of Blighted Gold, 50/50 with Brass Balls, then a wash of Citadel Dark Angel Green, then Brass Balls hilights. The Copper is just Tin Bitz, Brazen Brass and a wash of Scaly Green. -Dan
Interesting start. This metal, is it metal or non-metal? Whatever it is this greenish tinge is rather unsettling (in a good way). I know, I know it is probably too much to ask but when you post WIP could you add some detail on how you do it.
