After long break I finally fought off that lazy streak and took some pictures. This is Forge World eldar avatar that was patiently waited since the previous games day. This is large and rather complicated model with heavily textured surface that makes blending rather difficult.

I am painting it in a traditional "hot, but cooling lava" color scheme with one exception. I figured that his armor is not his "skin" and therefore should be different. Armor was painted using interference paints from Golden (mostly interference blue and violet). Problem with this - it is rather difficult to take an adequate picture of anything painted with interference paints without ruining the effect. ...

   30K Apocalyptic battle (Long, A lot of pictures) [28/08 09:00AM]

This was the largest apocalyptic engagement I yet to see. At some point there were more then 30000 points on the table. Every participant was supposed to have ~3000 points committed with half placed on the table at the point of initial deployment and the rest coming later on reserve rolls. There multiple objectives that each side must reach and control, in addition each player had a secret agenda, which was known only to organizers (guys that are running our local GW at 8th street). Tim (my son) was responsible for ork forces in the center and therefore this side will be furthermore referred to as 'ua' (or optionally known as forces 'B'). ...
