  1. Coffee and Other Things

Ah well, another work week done.  Got to do some cleaning before Sunday, since my folks are coming to the big city with a load of my crap thats been in storage at their place since I moved out back in '94, and I have to make room for it here cause I don't want to put it in storage only to have to pull it out again for sorting.  Especially when half of it is just crap. Just got my second cup of coffee for the day - a bit late I know, but I can always sleep in tomorrow, especially ...
  2. Welcome Message

Greetings, one and all!  Welcome to my first blog.  This is a space generally dedicated to mini painting, but just like real life there are bound to be many detours and diversions along the way.  C'mon in and have a look around!

  3. My mind is blank

Now that I have a place to say clever and insightfull things I find my mind is a complete blank.  Has that happened to you?
  4. For me it is but a Tuesday

Got home from work yesterday and collapsed into bed - didn't sleep well the night before and after 10 hours of listening to people bitch about how their cell phones suck or how their service provider sucks or how we suck cause we won't just give them what they want, I was one beat puppy.  Tonight however, is a different story and I hope to get some painting done - perhaps the final touches on the Necromancer, so he's ready for basing. Got a couple of Ideas for things I want to try on the ...
  5. Interesting miniature Store

While being temporarily banished to Albany I stumbled upon great store here. The name of the place is Zombie Planet and it is located at 1238 Central Ave. This place sells miniatures from a number of major lines GW, Epic, Gothic, D&D, Reaper Racham, privateer press and so on and so forth. What was really exciting is that they carry  a number of major paint lines under the same roof - GW, vallejo, both model and game lines; Reaper - both Pro and MAster, and Oh Joy P3!!!. This is actually ...
  6. golden demon uk project

a few months ago i started gathering my first ideas of what my entry would be. being an avid kroot fan, i had to give another shot at making a kroot master shaper, this time being completed on time and up to standard. this year i do not have the option of entering youngbloods, so this entry requires my main focus (only entering one model)

after messing around with a few parts i left the project for about 3 months because of the break i taken from games workshop (some times it has to be ...
  7. D&D Miniatures Gen Con Indy 2007 trophies

I've been involved as a Judge for the D&D Miniatures games at various big shows (Indy, So Cal, Winter Fantasy/D&D Experience) the last three years.   The second time I was at Gen Con I talked with the man in charge of Organized Play for the game and told him that I could paint the trophies that he awards, and he agreed.I recently finished up the next set of trophies that are to be prizes at Gen Con Indy 2007.  Some of these four figures are availible in the recent Night ...

  9. Ok, WTF?

So, its 2300 local - the GF has gone to work, and I'm sitting here unwinding after painting off and on all day - almost have the male fire giant finished, the female is getting close, and I even started work on a third piece - a Reaper Warlord Necromancer who looks like Tim the Enchanter from Holy Grail.  But the pallette is full of half dried paints, and I'm out of tea, so its time to stop for the night.  The tv is on USA - I was watching Law and Order, but apparently its time for their ...
  10. The joy of matte medium

So, I decided to nail down my glazing that for quite some time was rather inconsistent. Plus, need to paint 30 dire avengers was also stimulating.  Anyway long story short. I used to use Liquitex glaze medium that did the job yet always created intense shining coat (Dude! can you read? It is GLAZE medium, stupid). So, today I tried matte medium from liquitex. Well, not only the shine is no more, my feeling is that the final result is much better as well. Whenever, I get my camera back I'll ...
