  1. Using Themes for your Miniatures Part 2

by , 10-01-2020 at 09:07 AM (Flips wonderful Journey through the World of Miniature Painting)
    Greetings fellow travelers,

as promised I continue on last issues topic, which was:

...usage of themes for a paintjob.

What do I mean with that?

Through our painting we can transport a mood, feeling, thoughts and so on. The first step of the painting process for every one of us is to ask “What do I want to achieve with this paintjob”....

What I mean with this I explained in the last topic, so for the ease of reading I won’t ...

  2. Using Themes for your Miniatures Part 1

    Good Morning fellow Travelers,

ok, this is awkward. Contrary to my announcement about a year ago, I didn’t make good on my promise to write regularly again. Well, I won’t bore you with a detailed account of everything that has caused this, but just lets say life has held me quite busy. Nevertheless as things have a habit to go, some stability came into my life again. After moving from Wuppertal to Lübeck (my favorite town in Germany) I have some time for painting again. So much ...

  6. Hard to believe, but I have returned....(Relearning to Paint)

I don't know if anyone here remembers me, I joined in 2003, some of you may not have been born yet, and was pretty active for several years. Then, as is often the case, life happened. I packed away my minis, paint, brushes, and all of the other miscellaneous bits of gear one uses in this hobby, and set everything aside for about 10 years. Hard to believe it has been that long. But, now life has finally slowed, my own kids are grown and are starting out on their own, I am getting closer

  7. Building a Lightbox (Crow's Blog #3)

Greetings Comrades! At this point it's been a good month or so since I started to paint again, and I was thinking about how some of you take photos of your minis.

As a result I took a look at making a light box and it wasn't too hard to find some examples so I threw myself into it. Ordered some cheap foam board and got to cutting.

  8. A Little Back Story/Frivolous Minis (Crow's Blog #1)

Well Comrades, I thought I'd take a moment to write a little side blog over here on CMON. First up, a little back story - I haven't touched a paint brush in years, but I've been in touch with the gaming/lore side of things for a good while. As a fantasy writer, I've always been interested in the world building side of things.

So I'm not a total noob, but on the other hand never developed past a basic stage of painting. This was many years back when I had a job and I kinda went in at
