  1. Let's start

Hello everyone, just started my new blog, currently i'm working on some cool terrain projects for a fantasy/sci fi wargame i'd like to build a urban terrain, each building should be very detailed and placed on a small board so that i will be able to expand or change the config of the table i'm using the awesome molds by  since i'm building some big stuff i did some "aggregated" molds using as base components the small bits casted with Hirst arts molds ...
  2. Big Bird is finished

Got my Eagle all done up. I'll add some minor static grass to the base later, I'll do one big batch for all the new models. Took longer than I thought to paint this guy, the beak was fun and I added a little reflection on the pupil. I normally don't even try stuff like that with eyes :-)The magnetic wings worked out well, strangely enough the only thing giving me problems right now is the flying stand. It looks like the plastic is beginning to crack around where I pinned the peg into his belly. ...
  3. WIP - Dwarf Thane

Well i finally decided to start on another character and as always i spend alot longer on a character model than a normal soldier. Im pretty happy with the overall look at the moment, but i cant really decide on a colour scheme for the dragon'ey bits on his helm, im thinking a red/orange colour to go with the cloak. Obviously i have to finish the weapon and part of the helm, but i think im going to add some sort of extra fancy design on the cloak, maybe some runic pattern or celtic knot. Not sure ...
  4. Works in Progress

Spent 3 hours last night. Worked on assembling my elemental, realized I'll need more green stuff to fill in gaps. Basecoated dwarf and spent an hour painting his face before screwing up his eyes completely. I'll try painting over it but if that doesn't work, I'll strip him and start over.Assembled some skeletons, worked on the elf. I'm having trouble getting a smooth coat of paint on skin tones. I think it may be time to bin some of the older paints and buy some new supplies.

  5. Eagle of Doom

The primer is currently drying on the eagle, I didn't get a chance to paint him up yet like I wanted to. Silly things like reading assignments and response papers on the second day of class are getting in my way. Oh well I think I actually learned something which is a treat.Anyway I can happily report that the Citadel black spray seems less crappy than the last time I used some. The guys at the shop said that the horrid smell has decreased with the last few batches, and the horribly slow dry times ...
  6. Night Goblin Regiment no.2

Well i've finally completed another regiment of night goblins. The blue shields work well in contrast with my first night goblin regiment. I also tried for the first time in my life a rust effect on the standard bearer. Im not usually one to paint weathering effect on a model since i've always liked sparkly clean armies but this turned out rather well i feel, i might try more weathering effects on other things, we shall see. But generally im very happy with my regiment, now onto more dwarves ! then ...
  7. Eldar Wraithguard

Well as a test of my blending skills and some other random musings with my brush i decided to stop from my rank and file painting of dwarves and goblins to just paint a model i had lying around. I started to use a very thin coat of scab red and added progressive amounts of blood red. This gave a nice transition across the leg of the model. Then as a highlight i added a mix of orange and white progressively to give a more extreme highlighting.
Looking pretty good i decided to keep ...
  8. Battle For Skull Pass, The Beginning.

Battle For Skull Pass, The Beginning. Well i've always wanted some fantasy battle models, somehow i love the rank and file and nicely lined up regiments plus i wanted to start learning the rules too. What better way than to get the battle of skull pass boxed set GW are doing. I started painting the models and trying to think of colour schemes ...
  9. It's Grots Life

Alright, I'm kinds just burning time here while I wait for the new models to arrive. Bikes, Trukks and Shokk Attack Guns - Oh My! The holidays are over so I can start devoting a little more time to army painting. I'm starting to fill some points out with a Big Gunz unit. I figure I'll just paint up one set of crew grots with an extra grot for each, then I'll paint up a squad of 3 each (lobbas, kannons and zzap guns).

Here's the crews all ready for their newly painted big gunz.
  10. New High elf mage kit is great to make Eldar HQs

Looks like this blog  become more or less a weekly activity, unless I decide to start commenting on primaries (don’t fret I will not succumb to THAT temtation). I grew tired of my elders, or rather of the pressure to make a 2000 points army out of them so for the last couple of month I am trying to avoid them. Meanwhile, I fall in love with new high elfs and started to build/paint the mage on foot. However, I couldn’t resist and started converting him here and there. For example ...
