Best Christmas present ever!

I've been painting since about 1998, traditionally a lot of 40k stuff but lately I've been doing a lot of work with Fantasy and the odd little side project here and there. I don't game as much as I'd like, and I don't paint as much as I'd like either... but I make up for this by purchasing way more models than I ought to!

I make an effort to try new things once in a while, and every once in a while I'll actually finish something. My current project is the Warriors of Chaos, it's an attempt at doing a 2,000pt army in under 6 weeks for the Fracas tournament here in Edmonton. A $100 ticket should give me motivation to get my army done on time, I would love some tournament trophies to add to my painting awards :-) After that, who knows what I'll be up to!

Current Projects

Just a quick note about what I'm working on at the moment.

Project 1 is a Fallen Angel, I've posted some progress shots on the forum already. Here's the latest:

Fallen Angel

My other major project is the Battle Company mentioned in the sidebar there. My goal is to paint up a full 100-strong company of Blood Ravens to a high gaming standard. All of them will have converted/scenic bases using gravel, cork, plasticard, bitz and greenstuff. Pretty standard urban rubble.

There will be a mix of running and static poses in the army as well to help avoid monotony. Makes them look pretty, and it makes building more fun too.

In addition to the 100 main infantry, I'll probably do a handful of extra Terminators, Dreadnoughts, characters etc. By the time you add it all up, you'll be pushing 4500 points in Apocalypse (including the Masters of the Chapter which look like a blast to paint).

I'm not expecting to get this done any time soon, but hopefully it will get done eventually.

Interesting start. This metal, is it metal or non-metal? Whatever it is this greenish tinge is rather unsettling (in a good way). I know, I know it is probably too much to ask but when you post WIP could you add some detail on how you do it.

Thanks :) It's metallic, using P3 paints. Basecoat of Blighted Gold, 50/50 with Brass Balls, then a wash of Citadel Dark Angel Green, then Brass Balls hilights. The Copper is just Tin Bitz, Brazen Brass and a wash of Scaly Green. -Dan
