Best Christmas present ever!

I've been painting since about 1998, traditionally a lot of 40k stuff but lately I've been doing a lot of work with Fantasy and the odd little side project here and there. I don't game as much as I'd like, and I don't paint as much as I'd like either... but I make up for this by purchasing way more models than I ought to!

I make an effort to try new things once in a while, and every once in a while I'll actually finish something. My current project is the Warriors of Chaos, it's an attempt at doing a 2,000pt army in under 6 weeks for the Fracas tournament here in Edmonton. A $100 ticket should give me motivation to get my army done on time, I would love some tournament trophies to add to my painting awards :-) After that, who knows what I'll be up to!

Eagle of Doom

The primer is currently drying on the eagle, I didn't get a chance to paint him up yet like I wanted to. Silly things like reading assignments and response papers on the second day of class are getting in my way. Oh well I think I actually learned something which is a treat.

Anyway I can happily report that the Citadel black spray seems less crappy than the last time I used some. The guys at the shop said that the horrid smell has decreased with the last few batches, and the horribly slow dry times have decreased as well. My initial experience seems to verify this. I sprayed outside my back door at -22C and the paint seems more opaque, less stinky, and I was able to flip the wings and handle the body (carefully!) after about 15 minutes. Not quite the dry time of the older generation spray, but much better than the 60 or more minutes we were having the last few months.

Also? I gotta stop posting at 3-5:00 in the morning. Just because I've been having problems getting to sleep lately doesn't mean I shouldn't try getting to sleep at a normal time!

Wow, that's quick. I am still using the Tremclad flat black rust paint. It takes FOREVER to dry.
