Best Christmas present ever!

I've been painting since about 1998, traditionally a lot of 40k stuff but lately I've been doing a lot of work with Fantasy and the odd little side project here and there. I don't game as much as I'd like, and I don't paint as much as I'd like either... but I make up for this by purchasing way more models than I ought to!

I make an effort to try new things once in a while, and every once in a while I'll actually finish something. My current project is the Warriors of Chaos, it's an attempt at doing a 2,000pt army in under 6 weeks for the Fracas tournament here in Edmonton. A $100 ticket should give me motivation to get my army done on time, I would love some tournament trophies to add to my painting awards :-) After that, who knows what I'll be up to!

GD Canada in less than 24 hours!

It's pretty crazy, but Games Day is this Saturday. I feel pretty good about what I'm bringing down. Sadly the Dragon couldn't make the trip, it was taking damage from my last minute transportation attempts. As far as entries go, I'll be taking down Arwen, my Blood Ravens captain, Warrior Priest, and a couple of random regiments from my gaming collection will be entered in the Squad/Regiment categories. All those have been seen already.

But this guy is new! When I get back home I'll post a ton of WIP shots and talk through them a bit. It's pretty neat when you have like 16 photos of a model during various stages of completion. I don't have any WIP shots of the last painting session, so there's a big jump from almost done to completely done. Anyway, here's some photos. I hope you like him, and I hope the judges do too.

Big thanks to Vincenti for all the help and encouragemen on the project as well.

AAHHHH.....
have you used the gorkamorka base, and then a normal round base??

For the base I grabbed a chunk of sprue with a 30 degree bend in it, and glued it down. Covered it with a ton of greenstuff, and embedded a chopped in half heavy bolter sponson in the dirt. The model was pinned through the entire base once things cured a bit.
