The Forgotten of Menoth! With alternate color scheme
(0) comments,   (0) trackbacks

When I first got into Warmachine, I was talked into playing Menoth because that was the only faction left that wasn't being played in the league I joined.  After checking out the color scheme, I decided that I wanted to go in a completly different direction (plus my white and red -fu were WAY off at that time).  So I came up with an alternate color scheme.  After playing it a few times, some of the other guys in the league commented on how dark and sinister the new color scheme was, which got me to thinking about a little fluff for this arm of Menoth.  Seeing as how the Menoth faction is primarily desert based, I thought it would be cool to have a group that is isolated and "forgotten" by Menoth and his followers in the middle of the desert.  I also wanted the jacks to have a very "heavy" metal look to them so I went with all metallics and Tamiya smoke (that stuff is the BOMB!).  After awhile I stopped playing and painting Warmachine.  I recently dug these out of storage and am putting them on new, themed bases.  Once this project is complete I will be putting these models, a unit of unassembled unpainted temple guard, Menoth faction cards, rule books and special Warmachine templates from GF9 all on eBay....

Test mini for Sons of Guilliman Space Marines army

As promised here is a picture of my test mini.  I just wanted to see if I could paint a quartered color scheme so the colors are not highlighted or shaded.  The only thing I am done with is his skin.  I wanted him to look similar to Darth Vader at the end of Return of the Jedi when Luke takes his mask off, kind of a pale skin color.  The blue and white are not shaded, just the base coat.  I think it looks alright.  I will be finishing this mini by Thursday and will have finished pics up by the weekend.  ...

As promised, here are some pictures of the start of my Son's of Guilliman chapter. Since my first game is going to be a combat patrol mission w/400 pts, I decided to call this Patrol Group Axius, made up of elements from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd squads of the 4th company.
First up, Squad #1, missile launcher, plasma gun, 2 bolters, sarg w/bolter and CCW. Missile launcher and sarg are from the Battle for Macragge set:...

So I haven't worked on the Uren Knights since last week's blog.  I did get them primed though.  However, I have recently decided that "painting minis isnt good enough, I want more!"  More of what? you say?

Well, it isnt good enough that I paint minis, but now I want to PLAY with them.

Now I know what you are thinking... "But Keith, you barely have time to paint minis, update your blog, update your website, solve America's social problems, and make dinner!"...

Howdy!

Yes you read it correctly a WIP!  My first EVER.  This is a parvusmachina blog exclusive!  No where else will you see this, not even on my own site!

Anyways, so I am currently working on a commission of three Khor knights of Uren.  They minis came out of the box with minimal mould lines (impressive!).  How ever, one of the boars had mis-cast tusks!  No problem, I thought to myself, I've got plenty of bits and I am sure I have something suitable I put in place of the deformed tusks.  Sure enough!   I had a chaos champion head with horns on the helm that I thought would look pretty cool on the boar.  Below are some pics of what they looked like when in place....
