I started painting minis back when they were called "figs" in the early 1980's in college but after college it wasn't until the early 21st century that I took the brush back to the metal encouraged by a contest Sean K. Renolds had on the internet.

Dungeons and Ducks

Ducks & Dragons

I've been trying to use a few ideas for a one shot scenario for a local con; my duck minis, my newly purchased townhouses and my Matsui rubber duck.  Nicknamed Dungeons & Ducks the scenario will focus on human and halfling sized duck people defending their town from the Duck Dragon of the Yankees!...

The Gen Con Report

Even though I’ve been playing role playing games off and on since my college days in the 1980’s I have only been regularly attending Gen Con in Indianapolis for the past few years.  Even then I’m mostly interested in two things; various train games put out by Mayfair games and interesting classes on the subject of minis.

This year I attended a class on photographing minis.  I had already purchased a diffuser box, but the class helped me understand some of the finer elements of trying to photograph in low light that would be bright enough but without glare and shadows....
