  3. Who is the Iron Man?

++ Sentenza

  4. HI THERE!

Welcome to my small space here on coolminiornot's blog! I just wanted to tell you something about me!I'm 20 years old and I'm from Rome, Italy!I attend the second year of University, I'm studying arabic and japanese!
I know Warhammer thanks to my beloved boyfriend who works for Games Workshop e thought me to play and paint! (Thanks Darling! _)So... it's been a year since I started collecting and painting miniatures, at the moment I have 2 armies: Eldars and Chaos Daemons (Tzeentch And Slaanesh) ...

  5. Another quick note...

Just finished and submitted the essay I was working on, hooray! I really should be studying (have an exam at 9am and I haven't begun to study yet) but I want to post a super-quick progress report before I bury my face in another textbook.I didn't get any work done on the Venators today... but I did start painting an Ogre Maneater for the same army. I have the attention span of a gnat.
  6. Like a kid in a candy store

Well, my guy took me to the local hobby shop. We have a Games Workshop store that's closer but there's no way I'm paying full retail for GW if I can avoid it; and I wanted to check out some of the "newer" stuff from other manufacturers... they're not really new anymore since I've been in a hidey hole for years! And I felt like a kid in a candy store! They had a fine selection of Reaper (and old favorite of mine!), plus Dark Age stuff, and even Crocodile Games-I love the Basti. The guy there ...
  7. A finished model?! No friggin way!

In what's pretty typical for me, I broke away from the assembly line after a few hours and took a couple of models much further than the rest. One of them, a rank and file model, I fully completed to see how the color scheme would work out in the end. I'm pretty happy with the guy, especially when you consider the unit went from primer black to this stage in a single sitting. It's definitely a speed-painting job, which I normally don't do, but honestly I'm adding models to an army that I started ...
  8. WTF took you so long?

Yep, I know it's hard to believe but I actually finished a model! My first one since Games Day, as sad as that is. I pretty much coasted all summer, lost motivation for any army projects, got sidetracked by a University semester with 5 senior-level Comparative Literature courses, had a bit of an existential funk for a while, and suffice it to say none of this was conducive towards painting miniatures. Enough talk, here's the pics! When the new Space Marine stuff came out a few months ago, I picked ...
  9. The Fool Is Back!

Well, sort of at least. I'm mostly unpacked, and all moved into the new place. The painting area has been set up, even though I haven't started back to work yet. Hopefully soon as most of the major move-in projects are getting done or are nearly there. To celebrate, I thought I'd share this guy, who I finished just before the move.
Penrose Il Matto. He made it to the semi-finals in Steve Dean's last competition, and he's for sale if anyone might want to give him a new home.
  10. WD Clones

'WD Clones' is up and running. We're going to pick one model from the current issue of WD and paint them just like you would see in the magazine.  The goal of this exercise is to make sure we have the PRO techniques down pat, thereby advancing our study of masterclass painting.Up first is the Chaos Lord on Daemonic Steed, from 2008 December WD347 page 82. It was a blast to paint and easy to follow along with the magazine. The base kicked it up a notch to make ...
