I didn't get them all done as I would of liked but I'm running out of time. I have two more to finish off tomorrow, though the one with wonky looking legs on the back right, I'm not happy with. I've decided that I will reposition them.
For this part all I've done is got a blob of green stuff, rolled it into a thickish tube and placed around the top of the leg. I then smoothed it into shape with one of my clay shapers, making sure to go slightly over where I wanted the armour to end. Once it was basically the thickness and shape I wanted I'd trim around the edge of the armour with my blade to get the right shape and a good edge to it. Once that's done I go back over it with my clay shaper and fix any mistakes my blade made and make sure the green stuff is nice and smooth. I found it best to put the join in a place that's less likely to be seen, like on the inside of the leg. Sometimes that join can be a pain in the butt and I'm not entirely sure how some of them will look once hit with paint.
Either way, I'm hoping to have these legs mostly finished tomorrow and just do the final touches on Monday, then we can get into the chests and arms... I may need some more room on my table...
Thanks for reading, comments, questions and criticism welcome.
Catcha tomorrow.
