'Tis the Season to be SCARY!

It's that time of year again. Vampires start waking from their coffins, werewolves get the itch and zombies burst forth from the ground looking for brains. Halloween is almost here so that means I spend half a day going up and down ladders getting tombstones and containers of decorations unpacked for the haunting season.

My whole family is into Halloween and it's no surprise (to anyone who knows us) that we go all out for the occasion. Everyone dresses for work/school and the house is decorated to the nines (as much as we can afford, anyway) both inside and out.

I spent this last weekend setting up our decorations in unusual  80+ degree heat, very strange for us here in Minnesota, in October. I still have a few touch up things to do; find a way to spot light the new gargoyle, put out the sound system, and decide where I'm going to put the foggers. Once I'm done with that I'll do  a "test run" for Halloween night. I like to make sure everything works ahead of time as my schedule after work is pretty tight and I want to just get home and start the show.

The only thing we don't have out all the time is the black lights, a full size Leatherface animatronic figure and anything that's made of latex. These latex pieces are fantastic but the weather can be extremely deteriorating to these things and we invest a lot of money them and want them to last. The other items we don't put out so we don't encourage sticky fingers and vandals.

I'll try to post some pics of the dry run so you can see what it looks like before the big night when I usually don't have time to take many photos.

Happy Haunting to Everyone!
