manifold

This post is late like the one before it. Really late. I thought about combining day three and four, but I think I have enough to write day three as its own post.

Goals
Again didn't get much painting in, due to work and etc. but I did contemplate my short/long term goals, and I think it would be a good exercise to do so. So without further ado:

I would like to be a good painter. I'm going to measure my progress as follows:
Can I achieve smooth transitions for my shadows and highlights?
Can I paint a piece neatly without having to do a ton of touch ups?
Can I paint a piece with good NMM and SENMM effects?

Once the answer to each of those is 'yes', I'll consider this part of my journey complete.
