A while back I bought a dwarf batallion and I'm close to finished with my first unit of longbeards.

It's been 12 years since I painted my last miniature and while browsing some forums I ran into NMM. I had never heard of this before but I sure liked the Idea so I descided to give it a go. It made sense to me that practice makes perfect so I went all in and descided to paint my entire batallion in NMM.

I'm fully aware of the fact that the results will suck initially and that the quality will wary between the different units. Hell, there's even quite a big difference between different areas of the same mini. Not only when it comes to NMM, but "regular" painting aswell. After all, it's been 12 years:P I'm a bit rusty, to say the least.

The command group. The drummer is missing his drum. The horns on the standard bearer's helmet are unpainted. All metal except the bronze remains to be painte. As of this picture, and the ones below, it's only based in grey and then washed with black.

The bases ARE painted, the pictures turned out quite dark though so they seem unpainted. Painted in some dark grey. In the store I bought the paint, it seemed like the brown I wanted. I'm a bit colourblind so that in combination with the lightning in the store made it seem brown, when it was infact grey.

And below is the entire unit. It's not anywhere close to the level I want to be painting at.  Still I'm quite happy the way it's turning out though. Atleast it's above of what I expected from myself, being gone so long and being so young back when I was painting. Anywho it can only improve from here and I like the direction I'm heading.

I've added an album, "Dwarfs", and I've adde some WIP pictures of the Longbeard unit. I'm currently using the camera on my mobile but I've got my hands on a digital camera so there will be more pictures of the finished unit, in higher quality.

For being "pretty rusty" they look pretty good. Now, you need either more light or longer exposure. As it is pictures are too dark.

Sorry for duplicated comment. Actually with minimal post-processing you can improve existing images as well. Take a look

Thanks:) The colors in that picture are way more like it should be. I aint got no software atm to make that kind of adjustments though. I'm working on a "photo-tent", directly translated from swedish:P. That and the fact that I now have a real camera should let me produce some better pics:)
